From 2024 to 2025, the CALODI team carried out a research project to create a Portrait of West Island Tenants, with funding from the Direction régionale de santé publique (DRSP) of Montreal. The goal of this project was to gain a clearer picture of the tenant population of the West Island, the needs specific to West Island tenants, and the state of the rental housing stock in the West Island. The findings detailed in the Portrait will help to frame and orient the work of our organization and will help us better fulfill our mission in the coming years. Furthermore, we hope that housing stakeholders in the West Island, particularly elected officials in our cities and boroughs, will become aware of this report and open a dialogue with us and other housing organizations in our region.
